About

TESTIMONIAL

"Lauren’s classes are so, so special because of the many elements that have made her the teacher she is today.

Not only educated in human biology, anatomy, physiology, & pre-med, Lauren has worked as a licensed massage therapist & yoga instructor for years before her yoga therapy work.

Like many of her students & those seeking healing techniques, she has also experienced extensive pain and limitation in her physical body from life experiences.

All of these things have made her into a teacher with such compassion, knowledge, & experience.

She has an amazing ability to translate to her students what she wants to share with them helping everyone feel comfortable & at ease;  blissful within their own bodies.

She always incorporates therapeutic techniques in every class, that allow tension & pain to melt away in such a beautifully organic way.

Her passion is forever present in her classes from start to finish.  Lauren provides a true healing, mind body experience.

She takes an hour of your day and turns it into magic every time.

I don’t know how she does it!" ~ JJ O.

ABOUT

Lauren’s love of teaching started at age 16 when was offered a job as an assistant volleyball coach for the junior varsity volleyball team at her high school.

She fell in love with her first coaching gig, at how vibrant and alive she felt working with others, and seeing them succeed.

As a talented young athlete herself Lauren understood early on the connection between the mind, the body, the breath, and the ability to focus. It is a gift that continues to nourish and sustain her to this day.

She attended the University of Oregon, Eugene OR,  1995-1999  graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Movement Science & also in Biology.

Exercise and Movement Science is the pre-med curriculum at UO, and Lauren was fortunate enough to spend two years working with cadavers. There she developed a deep love, awe, & understanding of how the human body works.

She spent her senior year researching how the gate is affected by running on various surface levels and was chosen to present her findings at a Biomechanics Conference for graduate students in Seattle, WA.

Lauren was then hired during her last semester of college as a personal trainer and moved up to Portland, OR upon graduation to begin her career.

Seeing her clients feel better & better through movement and breath was empowering.

This propelled her to continue her studies & broaden her understanding of not only how the body works, but how the body heals.

CONTINUED EDUCATION

In 2002, Lauren earned both her state & national Massage Therapy License from the East-West School of the Healing Arts. She has been in practice for the past 19 years in the Pacific Northwest.

At this time she was already an avid yogini, dedicated to daily meditation and practice.

As much as she loved seeing her clients one on one, she felt a tug in heart to see how to be of service to more people in her community.

She listened to the call of service, and decided to open up a community yoga class.

YOGA STUDIES

In 2009, she enrolled in an immersion program with her teachers Ganga White and Tracey Rich at the White Lotus Foundation.

She completed her 200-hour YTT and became an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance.

She continued teaching her sliding scale community classes as well as teaching at studios throughout the Portland Metro Area.

Lauren became a Yoga Teacher Trainer teaching Anatomy, Asana, Alignment, & Sequencing.

She fell in love with leading small local retreats. Now she leads both local and national retreats. Lauren also provides continuing education classes for yoga teachers.

In 2018 Lauren opened the doors to her yoga studio, Radiant Yoga, and enjoyed two beautiful years of running what was called “The Healing Space” by the community.

When the pandemic hit she had to close the studio’s doors.

Shifting to an online, yoga on demand platform, Lauren continues to share her life’s work & teachings with her students.

She strives to bring high quality, therapeutic, and healing yoga classes to all.
